I read an interesting quote today. It comes from a book called, "Lies My Teacher Told Me," by James Loewen. Here it is: "Memory says, 'I did that.' Pride says, 'I could not have done that.' Memory eventually yields." -Friedrich Nietsche. I think that this is an exellent quote in reference to united states history. That's all for now

Realpolitik

I hate the idea of politics. Politics as a rule is defined by strife divisions and war. The characteristics that define a, "democrat," set itself against,"republicans," communists and etc. When I see propiganda in the news, hear political rhetoric in speech, or read leading news reports, I am sickend to the core. All that I can see is vested interest, arguing, and bias. What I perseve is lacking is a true search for truth and justice objectively. At this point in my life, I feel that as thoreau put it, "government is best which governs least."

The television show "Crossfire" is a perfect case-study on my view. one democrat, pne republican talk about the news in the government. Of course rather than discussing issues and solutions they protect the being that is their party, cursing the other "evil" party and protecting the apparent-to-themselves "moral authority" of any action of their representative party. WHAT ABOUT THE GOAL OF DISCUSSION OF POLITICS? WHERE ARE THE DAMN SOLUTIONS? If a program works , Who gives a fuck who did it, it works.... don't finger point and second guess all "opponents." Government seems to only exist and opperate in the protection of its own interests: not the needs and will of the people that are governed!

I absorb so  much crap about politics and bias, prosessing it and making my own desitions only makes me distressed because I realize just how much one has to sift through the rivers of crap and leading media, to find sand grains of actual work/ fact/ information. the rest is just leading the cattle public. darn that media!!

another work day...

Well, Sean has worked another day earned a few more dollars. I've decided that through manual labor that I want to finish college after all. I am sort of a wuss when it comes to that stuff. One definate lesson I've learned is to treat people nicely. Some of these Club Members are real jerks about stupid stuff. courtesy is always important. Zen moment for today.

N.P.R.  / P.B.S.

N.P.R. is one of the few programs within the mass media that I enjoy. In my oppinion the station is much more objective than any other radio that I have experienced so far. I think that it keeps much better the public journalistic integrity much of the rest of radio. P.B.S. is another organization that I truly like. When I listen to any talk radio, or otherwise, chances are pretty good that it's N.P.R. In Jacksonville, 89.3 comes in just alittle better than 91.9. I find that npr streaming audio is my favorite news source.Give it a listen.http://www.npr.org  Don't trust a station who has seriously vested interest in story spinning.

Similarly, Television gives me frustration when it comes to nnews. I find that often the shows are biased, leading, and offensive. If I must choose a station, i think it'd be P.B.S., and if i need news bad, i go to CNN. Cnn isn't unbiased, btu I feel that It's the least Biased of all the channels. just a few more words al la me. Go to http://www.pbs.org I think that public outlets are those best utilized. enjoy
